  The Frederick County 4H Therapeutic Riding Program Inc. began in April 1984 as a special project under the Frederick County 4H Horse and Pony Club. We are incorporated in the state of Maryland as a non-profit 501c3 organization.

Lift System

• We provide a seven week session of riding instruction each spring and fall
• Our 72 students ride free of charge
• Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and all day Saturdays.

Our  program always has a waiting list of applicants, but our enrollment is limited by money and  the availability of volunteers. We are always in need of funds to maintain or replace equipment for the riders and horses.  Funds are needed to care for our horses health, including feed, veterinarian care and hoof care.   The Frederick County 4H Therapeutic Riding Program  is not funded through any Federal, State or County funds. We rely solely on private donations,  local clubs, private individuals, fund raising - such as cookie sales, pizza sales etc.
