Frederick County 4H Therapeutic Riding Program is a small therapeutic riding center established in 1984 and designed to provide equine assistance learning to Frederick County residents with special needs. Any age, any disability, any race, any nationality, any gender.
Frederick County 4H Therapeutic Riding enrolls up to 78 students who ride for 7 weeks in the spring and fall with summer classes also available. Riders join us once a week for 45 minutes during these sessions. Private therapeutic lessons are also available. Individualized lesson plans are developed by riding instructors for each student in collaboration with program therapists and family members. We provide the safest possible environment in which to challenge the rider to perform to the best of their ability.
Volunteers put in more than 4000 hours per year and are an integral part of
FC4HTRP since its inception and continue to be a vital part of this program.
Frederick County 4H Therapeutic Riding is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. We
survive because of your donations.
